LAU and the National Commission for Lebanese Women have renewed their partnership to promote women’s rights and gender equality through scientific research, education, training, policy development, advocacy, and community action.

Dr. Elio Challita (BE ’15) and Mr. Harout Semerjian (BS ’93) are this year’s recipients of the Alumni Recognition Award and the Alumni Excellence Award, respectively, for their groundbreaking work in science, engineering, and biotechnology.

The new master’s blends theory with real-world applications, equipping students with the analytical and quantitative skills for a range of careers in finance, accounting, consulting, and related fields, as well as doctoral studies and research.

The Class of 2026 PharmD graduates, who persevered through uncertainty and crises, take the oath at their hooding ceremony to exemplify good citizenship and serve with ethics and compassion.

Dr. Vanda Abi Raad, clinical professor of anesthesiology and associate dean for Faculty Affairs and Development at the school of medicine, has been elected to the Council of the World Federation of Societies of Anesthesiologists, representing Africa and the Middle East.

A study led by Dr. Charbel Al Khoury, assistant professor of microbial genomics, investigated newly detected cases of Halzoun syndrome, a parasitic infection associated with consuming raw or undercooked liver in North Bekaa.

As part of the Electrical Engineering Apps course, students went out into the field, working with communities and industry partners on real-needs projects and tackling specific engineering challenges.

Alumna Khadija AlAbed Allah (BS ’25) was among 300 international students out of 5,000 applicants to secure the France Excellence Eiffel Scholarship toward a master’s in materials chemistry, modelling, and advanced characterization techniques.
